On Tuesday, Apple announced this fall’s additions to their hardware lineup. They unveiled the Series 3 Apple Watch, a 4K version of the Apple TV, the iPhone 8 and 8+, along with a special iPhone X addition.
Series 3 Apple Watch
The series 3 38MM Apple Watch will have a Wi-Fi version priced at $329 and a LTE version priced at $399. The 42MM model costs an additional $30. The cellular version can take and receive calls and use apps without having to have an iPhone nearby. The watch’s phone number must be the same as the phone number already assigned to an iPhone 6 or later. The watch has 16GB of memory and has a distinctive red crown that distinguishes it from non-cellular models. Although Apple will still offer the series 1 watch for $249, the series 2 has been removed from their website.
All major cellular carriers will support the Series 3 Apple Watch. It looks like they will all charge $10 per month on top of what you are already paying for your service.
4K Apple TV
The new Apple TV is priced at $179. Sense the main reason for purchasing this model is the ability to watch 4K videos, Apple will sell 4K videos for the same price as HD videos, and they will also upgrade existing HD purchases to 4K.
iPhone 8 and iPhone 8+
These phones are similar in appearance to the iPhone 7 and 7+, but they have a glass back. They come equipped for wireless charging, support 4K 60 fps video, and have an A11 Bionic chip.
The iPhone 8 is priced at $699 for 64GB and $849 for 256GB. The iPhone 8+ is priced at $799 for 64GB and $949 for 256GB.
The iPhone X does away with the home button, and unlocks your phone with Face ID. Even though the screen is 5.8 inches, the phones bevel less display makes it half way between the size of an iPhone 8 and 8+. The iPhone X also has a glass back, and can be wirelessly charged. It is priced at $999 for 64GB and $1,149 for 256GB.
