Mercer University professor Sinjae Hyun has presented seven Georgia Academy for the Blind seniors with 3D yearbooks.

Hyun says the project took more than 150 hours over three months to complete. The yearbooks are boards with plastic 3D printings of students’ faces perched above Braille nameplates, the Macon Telegraph reported.

The students were given the yearbook last month. Superintendent Cindy Gibson says it’s another level of accessibility, since these students were previously unable to experience the rite of passage. The project is now expected to continue annually.
