Just released! eSight 3 is a pair of high-tech glasses that has the ability to convert vision in the 20/200 and 20/1200 ranges to nearly 20/20 vision, according to eSight. This new eyewear technology is also wearable, hands-free and portable, making it a one-of-a-kind non-surgical product for individuals with conditions that cause severe vision loss.

The device has a small camera in it that live streams to a computer. The computer processes the pixels in the real-time video to enhance its quality. Then, the images are seen by the user through two Organic-LED screens.

Viewing experiences are also able to be personalized by users. The device features near vision, midrange vision and long range vision settings, allowing for optimal images. Users can also adjust settings like color and magnification so that images are in focus with the ability to take and store pictures.

Does eSight actually work?

It really does. There are thousands of videos and media articles on social media and eSight’s website that feature legally blind people who can now see thanks to eSight. A major clinical trial showing eSight’s efficacy has been completed and the data will be published in 2017.

What is eSight’s guiding principle?

eSight fundamentally believes that Everyone Deserves to See! We believe this to be true no matter someone’s age, walk of life, cause of vision loss, or ability to pay. This is especially true now that a technology like eSight exists that enables the legally blind to actually see.

How did eSight come to be?

eSight’s founder, a successful electrical engineer, has two sisters who are legally blind. In 2006, he said to himself, “If I can assemble teams of engineers who can build incredible products for the commercial market, why not assemble an engineering team that can build electronic glasses that would let my sisters see?”

The eSight engineers had a unique vision for a totally new and revolutionary type of solution they wanted to build. For eSight to be truly useful for the legally blind, the technology would have to:

From eSight

eSight houses a high-speed, high-definition camera that captures everything the user is looking at. eSight’s algorithms enhance the video feed and display it on two, OLED screens in front of the user’s eyes. Full color video images are clearly seen by the eSight user with unprecedented visual clarity and virtually no lag. With eSight’s patented Bioptic Tilt capability, users can adjust the device to the precise position that, for them, presents the best view of the video while maximizing side peripheral vision. This ensures a user’s balance and prevents nausea – common problems with other immersive technologies.

Hands-Free Design

eSight is a sleek, wearable device that allows a legally blind individual to use both of their hands while they use eSight to see. It is lightweight, worn comfortably around the
eyes and designed for various environments and for use throughout the day.

Versatile

eSight is a comprehensive customized medical device that can replace all the many single-task assistive devices that are currently available but do not provide actual sight (e.g. white canes, magnifying devices, service animals, Braille machines, CCTV scanners, text-to-speech software).

Instant Sight

eSight provides sight with virtually zero latency.
It allows a user to instantly auto-focus between short-range vision (reading a book or text on a smartphone)
to mid-range vision (seeing faces or watching TV) to long-range vision (looking down a hallway or outside
a window).

Enables Mobility

eSight is the only device for the legally blind that enables mobility without causing issues of imbalance or nausea (common with other immersive options). A legally blind individual can use eSight not just to see while sitting down but while being independently mobile (e.g. walking, exercising, commuting, travelling, etc).

Some Conditions That eSight Works For

eSight helps people with many different eye conditions regain their independence, and we are committed to continuously discovering new conditions that we can address.

Enabling Independence With eSight

eSight enables independence and choice as the legally blind engage in
virtually all activities of daily living.

Daily Living

The legally blind can enjoy mobility and independence as they engage in virtually all activities of daily living. Read and write, see loved ones, live an active lifestyle, engage in previously abandoned hobbies and even travel the world, all with eSight.

Education

Visually impaired students can use eSight to view the board from any seat in the class or lecture hall, read easily from books, tablets and computers, move independently between classes, participate in on and off campus events, and study with confidence.

Work

eSight is an all-in-one solution for the workplace. From commuting and travelling to delivering and reading presentations and using various tools and technologies, eSight empowers the legally blind with independence in the workplace.

For those living with legal blindness or low vision, eSight is a game changer.
Because Everyone Deserves To See.
