This past week, Google made several improvements to their default text to speech engine. They added 6 new languages, which now brings the total number of languages to 35. The new languages are:
Google has also made improvements to voices across the board. They have also provided an option to turn off number processing and hear a more literal reading of things like dates and values. They have given the user the ability to control intonation for text in a wider range of languages and voices.
