Google has now made it possible for Android users to send text messages from a web browser on their computer. Google rolled out “Messages for Web” support to all Android users recently, meaning you can now send text messages from any web browser, whether you’re on a PC or Mac.

Google lets you start or continue a text message conversation from a computer, so you don’t have to keep using your phone, and It’s easy to set up.

  1. First, download Android Messages for your Android phone if you don’t have it installed already.
  2. Follow Google’s installation instructions, it should take just a couple of seconds.
  3. Next, go to https://messages.android.com from your computer’s web browser.
  4. You’ll get a screen on your computer that has a QR code.
  5. Then launch Android Messages on your phone.
  6. Select the menu button in the top-right corner.
  7. Select “Messages for Web”.
  8. Select “Scan QR Code”.
  9. Now take your phone and point it at the QR code that appeared on your computer screen.

That’s it. Now you’ll see a screen that lets you start new text conversations with anyone in your phone book. You can send pictures, emoji, stickers and more. I tested it on a Mac with VoiceOver and it was accessible.

Try it out for yourself and tell us what your experience was like using your computer.
