For people who are partially sighted, the brightness of your screen is probably one of the most important setting on your phone. If it’s too dim, visibility can be impossible.

Android P tries to make all of these adjustments for you with Adaptive Brightness. This new iteration learns your usage habits to make more accurate predictions of how bright or dim you like your display.

If you’re someone that prefers to manually control your brightness level to adapt to a visual impairment, Adaptive Brightness can work against you. Toggling it off is very simple if you know where to look.

  1. Launch Settings.
  2. Select Display.
  3. Select Adaptive Brightness.
  4. Select the adaptive brightness toggle to turn the feature off.

Now that you have successfully disabled Adaptive Brightness. You can now enjoy your phone.
