Amazon is rumoured to launch multi-room audio support for its Amazon Echo devices, enabling users to play music in more than one room at once. The multi-room audio feature recently finished internal testing indicating it will be arriving on Echo in the near future.
The cool thing is that multiple Echo devices will be able to operate as a multi-room speaker setup, enabling device owners to treat all the Echo devices in their home as if they were individual connected speakers.
Also, users will be able to issue commands to any of these Echo devices and have them all respond as normal. All of the Echo devices located on a single floor could respond to the same command issued to only one device, saving time and perhaps better positioning the devices for smart home functionality.
The new feature has already undergone testing by Amazon and they could push out an update to its Echo devices at any time. This should keep Amazon’s product competitive with Google Home, which already has the feature.
