Ocutech has announced a limited release of its VES Falcon Autofocus Bioptic Telescope, a telescopic vision solution for patients with visual impairment.
The company said in a press release, that the Falcon underwent 6 years of development and testing to provide the “most natural, hands-free magnified vision possible” for patients with low vision.
From a single charge, the Falcon can operate for 8 hours, allowing wearers to see clearly and engage in everyday activities. Additionally, the high-contrast widefield 4x Keplerian optics allow for the Falcon to provide a 12.5-degree field of view and a nearly 13-inch focusing range, according to the release. Furthermore, weighing only 3.2 ounces, the device is comfortable to wear.
The VES Falcon Autofocus Bioptic Telescope is currently available through a limited release to select low vision specialists in the U.S., with the wide release occurring in the fall.
