Nintendo’s Super Mario Run is Coming to iOS on December 15.
This past summer, Pokemon Go generated a mobile gaming craze, and now the excitement is building once again as Nintendo has announced a launch date for Super Mario Run which will be available on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. You can download the game from the App Store on December 15. An android version will be released in 2017. The app is free to download, but only the first four levels are free. After that, you will need to pay $9.99 to unlock the remaining levels. Many blind and visually impaired gamers have had a great deal of success playing Nintendo games by using sound to navigate the game environment. Hopefully, Super Mario Run will be a game that the blind can play.
Project Tango Will Likely Come to the Moto Z by way of a New Module.
Aymar de Lencquesaing, president of Motorola, and Senior vice-president at Lenovo, announced that a new module will be coming to the Moto Z which will add Tango functionality to the smart phone. Until now, only the Lenovo phab2 has included Tango functionality. Google fell under some criticism for not including its own Project Tango on its new flagship phone, the Google Pixel. Tango offers many exciting possibilities for the blind and visually impaired community. Tango uses cameras and special software to map indoor environments for augmented reality. A Teenager is Hoping to Change the Lives of Visually Impaired Around the World
Anmol Tukrel, 17, from Toronto, Canada has created an app that helps visually impaired people identify objects and text. A Grade 12 student at Holy Trinity, Anmol designed a new app for the blind that describes things you take photos of with your iPhone or iPad.
