Razer launches smart glasses with lens options

Razer has decided to get into the smart glasses market with the Anzu. Aside from having two shape, size, and lens options, the Anzu also features built-in audio functionality.

What do the smart glasses look like and how do they work?

The Razer Anzu come in two designs, rectangle and round. Both also come in a choice of small or large frames. The Anzu features open-ear speaker design that projects sound towards your ears from the temples. You can have music stream to your glasses or you can also take calls with the built-in microphone.

To control playback, the Anzu have touch controls on the temples that let you access a variety of functions. They are available on both temples so you can use them comfortably regardless of your dominant hand. read more

Walmart and Sam’s Club Offering Free Prescription Reading Device for Visually Impaired and Blind Customers

Walmart and Sam’s Club pharmacies recently announced a move to help blind and visually impaired customers through En-Vision America’s ScriptTalk audible prescription labels which are available at nearly 1,200 pharmacies.

Walmart said it is adding up to 25 pharmacies with the capability each month, with 750 pharmacies added in the past three years. Walmart and Sam’s Club equip a pharmacy to provide ScripTalk with a patient’s request for audible prescription labels. Once a pharmacy is equipped, usually within a week to 10 days, the pharmacy provides ScripTalk labels to patients requesting them at no charge and without lengthy delays. read more

Just Released Focals Smart Glasses Discounted by 40 Percent

After barely a month on the market, Focals are getting a major price cut just ahead of new pop-up shops hitting the West Coast. In an effort to better align with what people expect to pay from their glasses, North is cutting the price of Focals to $599. That’s a $400 cut from the original $999 price tag and for those who ordered early, the company is even giving out refunds for the difference.

The base model Focals run $599, but that price goes up when you add on extras. Prescription lenses, for example, cost an extra $200 while premium lenses and alternate colors add $100 each. The new prescription lenses are available to fit a range between −4 to +2 SPH and 0 to − 2 CYL. Users who need these lenses simply upload the data before getting fitted for a pair of Focals. read more

Lucyd Launches Prescription Bluetooth Smart Glasses for only $99

Lucyd has launched a new pair of prescription-compatible smart glasses called Lucyd Loud which cost only $99.

Loud features bone conduction-based audio and AI voice assistant access for phone calls, media controls, and app access at the touch of a button, similar to how standard Bluetooth headsets work.

They also don’t necessarily look like either prescription glasses or tech-heavy smart glasses. Instead, they have a modern styling in a matte black coloration and ship in three different styles of lenses. They include clear, sunglasses, and a slightly more expensive photochromatic. read more
