Asus is coming out with a smartphone that supports Google Tango and Google Daydream VR.

Tango offers smartphone users a form of computer vision–motion tracking, depth perception, and area learning- allowing them to view the augmentations through the phone’s screen. The Daydream capabilities make the ZenFone AR one of the latest smartphones that unleash Google’s next generation of smartphone-based VR with a Daydream controller.

The Asus ZenFone AR has a 5.7-inch (1440 x 2560) AMOLED screen and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chip inside that offers a Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU. It also has 6GB of RAM. Keeping it cool is a vapour cooling system to help maintain temperatures.

The camera has a Sony IMX318 sensor and TriTechAutofocus system and can shoot in 4K.

Asus also said that it “worked closely with Qualcomm Technologies engineers and Google to efficiently distribute computer vision workloads, as well as rapidly process movement and positioning instructions by Tango that is known as six degrees of freedom, or ‘6DoF’.”

Asus advantages of its work with the Qualcomm 821:

The ZenFone AR will be available Q2 2017. There’s no price available at this time.
