For fifty years, We have watched Star Trek characters use the voice command, “computer”, to begin interacting with the ship’s computer. Now you can interact with your Amazon Echo in the same way. Below are step by step instructions on how to change the wake word on your Echo. Enjoy, and have fun.

Open the Alexa app.
Select the settings tab.
Select the link with your device name.
Select the link labelled “Wake Word”.
Select the popup button to the right of Alexa device wake word.
Swipe up until you reach “computer”.
Select “computer”.
Swipe left, and select “done”.
It will take a few minutes for Amazon to reset your new wake word.
